Georgia COAM Location License Holders should keep their licenses, agreements and supporting records organized and ready for inspection. A few simple checks can help a business avoid preventable compliance issues before machines are installed and throughout the licensing year.
Display the original current Location License
The original COAM Location License for the current licensing year must be prominently displayed at the licensed business. A photocopy is not sufficient. The license is issued for the specific business address shown on it and is not transferable to another owner or location.
Depending on the license class, additional items supplied by the Master License Holder must also be displayed, including a copy of the current Master License, the proper machine decals and required responsible-play or fraud-and-abuse signage. Keep contracts and records available for inspection
A Class B Location License Holder does not ordinarily display its contract with the Master License Holder for customers to see. However, the contract and any addenda must be kept at the business and made available when requested by a COAM Compliance Inspector or other authorized representative.
Class B locations should also keep supporting documentation for prize redemption and other relevant business financial records organized and accessible. Good records make it easier to respond to an inspection or reconcile reporting questions.
Confirm licensing before machine placement
A business must hold the appropriate valid Location License before COAMs are made available for public play. The license should reflect the correct class and authorized machine count. If the location changes machine classes, ownership, address or other important application information, check with the Georgia Lottery before proceeding.
Review these items regularly
- The original current Location License is prominently displayed.
- The current Master License copy, machine decals and required signage are present.
- The LLH–MLH contract and amendments are onsite.
- Redemption and financial records are organized.
- Business, owner and contact information is current.
- The number and class of machines match the license.
