How to Renew a Georgia COAM Location License
Use this checklist to renew your Georgia Class A or Class B COAM location license through the Georgia Lottery Corporation (GLC). Start with your current account and confirm the renewal period, deadline, and license status shown by the GLC.
1. Check your license and the current renewal notice
Review the expiration date on your license and the latest notice in the official Georgia Lottery COAM portal. If your license has expired, you missed a deadline, or no renewal option appears, contact the GLC before assuming the license can still be renewed or machines can continue operating.
O.C.G.A. § 50-27-71(k) states that a license expired for more than 90 days cannot be renewed and requires a new application. Late fees may apply. A pending renewal permits continued operation only when the conditions in subsection (l) are met, including a properly completed application and all fees paid by the due date, with no GLC notice of a renewal problem before expiration.
2. Have your records ready
- Your COAM account sign-in and location-license number.
- Current legal business, location, and ownership information.
- FEIN, Georgia State Taxpayer Identification Number, and any identification documents requested for updates.
- Applicable alcohol-license or Georgia Lottery retailer information.
- An accepted payment method and records of any changes since the previous application.
3. Review and submit the renewal
Sign in, open Licenses, and select the correct business and license type. Choose the renewal option when available. Review every screen for accuracy, including the machine classes and counts. Complete required fields and applicable optional information; follow any validation message rather than entering unrelated information into optional fields.
Review the fees, submit the renewal and payment, and save both confirmations. For an overview of the annual per-machine location fees, see our COAM application and fee guide.
4. Considering a multiple-year license?
The GLC’s 2027 Multiple Year License Application (PDF) offers one or two additional years after the 2027 online application is submitted. It has separate form, upload, and payment instructions. Review those instructions and confirm eligibility with the GLC; annual machine decals are handled separately by the master license holder.
5. Verify completion and follow up
Check your portal and email for additional requests. Once issued, verify the renewed license details and display the current license at your business. Keep your confirmation, receipt, and license together for the next renewal.
