Renewing a Georgia coin-operated amusement machine (COAM) license is easier when Location License Holders and Master License Holders prepare before the annual application period opens. What to gather before starting
- Your COAM portal username and password
- The correct State Tax Identification (STI) number and Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN), when required
- Current owner, officer, shareholder, address and contact information
- Valid identification and any supporting documents requested in the application
- A payment method for the online application
It is also wise to verify that the business is in good standing with the Georgia Department of Revenue and Georgia Secretary of State. Incomplete or inconsistent information can delay an application.
Choose the correct license type and class
Applicants should carefully select the correct license type—Location, Master, Manufacturer or Distributor—and the correct machine class. A location that has, or expects to have, both Class A and Class B machines during the licensing year must apply for the appropriate Class B Location License. Apply online and review the application
Georgia COAM Location License applications and renewals are completed online. Before submitting, review the business name, physical address, ownership information, license class and requested machine count. Save the confirmation and monitor the portal for status updates or requests for additional information.
Do not wait until the deadline
The licensing year generally runs from July 1 through June 30, but renewal opening dates and instructions are subject to change.
